Artsy Fartsy Crap - A Love Story or Something Interesting That Will Grab Cool Peoples' Attention
The following is a game art piece submission for the Pompous Trash 2 Game Jam hosted by the Dallas Society of Play. It was thrown together expertly crafted by negative_development in case you can't read page descriptions.
Narrated and given something vaguely musical a musical soundtrack masterpiece by the Amazing Doctor Tentacles.
You are Yellow, an amorphous ball and you are on a journey through a dark purple and neon void to find meaning in your repetitive existence. Meanwhile, you eat people and dots to change your destiny and the numbers mysteriously floating above your head. Polish? Nay! "Real" art* is raw! Replayability? Art* is timeless, you savage. Crap? Most definitely. Art* does not need to explain itself to you!
Game features:
- POINTS!
- ENEMIES!
- 8-WAY MOVEMENT!
- PIXEL ART!*
- PHILOSOPHICAL QUANDARIES!
- CANNIBALISM!
- A POMPOUS NARRATOR!
- GLOWING THINGS!
- OPEN WORLD GAMEPLAY!
- ACHIEVEMENTS!**
How To Play:
- Press Arrows or WASD to Move.
- Space Bar or Enter to devour.
- SHIFT to pause and unpause.
- Touch the screen if you wish to connect with this deep work of art (or if you're on mobile. If not on mobile, you may still touch the screen. But I shall judge you.)
- Stare at the screen to appreciate this work of art.
- Share with friends and randomly send me money.
- Everybody wins.
To Whom It May Concern: This game is a parody. I am broke and have kids. Please don't sue me.
CW / TW : Game contains swearing, cannibalism and ghost murder (can you murder ghosts?)***
* "Art" being subjective. Art has no definition - which is a nice way to say it sucks.
** Achievements are not saved between play throughs. The programmer was terminated so we could pay for our second homes. Inflation or whatever.
*** No ghosts were harmed in the making of this title. Because ghosts feel no pain. I hope.
Install instructions
You can play the HTML in browser.
If you hate yourself, you can download it for Linux or Windows.
Put the .PCK file in the same folder as the Exe for Windows or the numbered thingy for Linux. Or not. See if I care.
